A few hours before she passed, several family members gathered at her apartment, surrounding her with our love, and preparing our hearts for the loss we knew was close at hand.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1882\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dalelafferty.com\/wp-content\/FB_IMG_1486182974925.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1882\" src=\"https:\/\/dalelafferty.com\/wp-content\/FB_IMG_1486182974925-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"She loved this blanket.\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1882\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dalelafferty.com\/wp-content\/FB_IMG_1486182974925-300x263.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dalelafferty.com\/wp-content\/FB_IMG_1486182974925-1024x899.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dalelafferty.com\/wp-content\/FB_IMG_1486182974925.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1882\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">She loved this blanket.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Mom&#8217;s final hours,  she was covered with a special blanket she had received as a gift for her 91st birthday. The blanket held pictures of over 60 family members and descendents, a legacy of love carried on in this and future generations.  Family was truly her greatest joy and pride. <\/p>\n<p>She was the perfect definition of unconditional love, and even when I strayed she never let me out of her heart.
