Wow! 3G Full Bars

I’m at a SP in Oklahoma called Twin Bridges. It’s just over the border from Joplin, Missouri. Now, it may look like I’m way out west but I’m not even half way yet. There was not much I wanted to see in Indiana, Illinois, or Missouri but I will slow down and make some detours out here.

It’s awfully hard to get Jane to let me do much sight seeing, she has a fit if I get off the Interstate. Yesterday, there was a bad accident on I70 and all traffic was routed over to Rt40. Jane insisted that I turn around and go back to the interstate even though I explained that it was impossible. She just wouldn’t listen.

The weather has been beautiful – 70s and sun – and I hope it holds for these long southwestern states. It might be a good idea to change the title of my blog to something more appropriate

Jane needs to relax. She’s on a road trip! I wonder if they make smart GPS units…ones that when they realize that you are on an adventure they begin to suggest side trips you’d enjoy. Lol

Wow. We left NY the day before you did and have only gone 200 miles. I think you’re going to beat us.

Are you camping along the way? Sleeping in your van or tent camping? You should stop in OKC and see the bombing memorial. (Robin & Ken lived in Norman for 7 years.)

  4. Mom says:

Yes, Dale, do see the OK Memorial. It’s worth fighting the crazy OK City traffic. You could spend half a day there. Tell Jane you have to obey your mother’s orders. Remembering when it happened makes it all the more real, even the tree.

If you will be going through the Amarillo area, a side trip to Palo Duro Canyon would be interesting. You just don’t expect anything like that in the panhandle of TX.

Enjoy those 70s while you can. It is predicted to be around 105 for the next week in Phoenix. It was 113 in Los Angeles yesterday.

I guess that means the Sierras will probably not be too cold, so that’s the bright side.

It’s quite a bit cooler in LA today. Come on over!
